As Apple has dropped the support for older Mac Models (up to Skylake), youll need to update the SMBIOS data to 2018 and later. Now it’s just a matter of connecting the drive to a Mac that you’d like to reinstall macOS on, powering off the machine, and rebooting it while holding the Option (⌥) key. Once completed, you’ll see a confirmation box. Step 10: On the warning screen, click Yes to proceed once you’re sure that the correct disk is selected and that it’s okay to erase its contents.ĭisk Drill will now go through the process of copying over the necessary files and making the USB drive bootable. Be sure to select the correct drive, because the entire contents of the selected drive will be erased. Step 9: Click Make Bootable next to your USB flash drive. Download macOS High Sierra Using Dosdude Patcher As stated earlier, Apple does not offer the full version of High Sierra and it provides only 19MB update file and it is beneficial for you when you have High Sierra. Step 7: Disk Drill should automatically point to the macOS Installer location, but if not, you can click Locate installer on disk and point to the location in the /Applications folder manually. Windows users can download the macOS Mojave dmg file and use it for a bootable USB. Step 5: Now, follow steps in Part 6 of this guide to make a bootable macOS High Serria USB by using Terminal app. Step 6: In Disk Drill, click Create Boot Drive → OS X / macOS Installer. In the Utilities window, choose ‘Install macOS’ and click Continue. Select the drive with a bootable installer and press Return. Release Option once you see the startup options screen. Right-click on Install macOS Big Sur Show Package. Press and hold Option right after turning on your Mac. Step 2: After downloading macOS Big Sur, the installer will automatically launch.
